Marya Dunham

Marya has taught students from preschool through high school and has also served as the director of a specialized school supporting students with diverse learning needs.

She holds an undergraduate degree in Special Education, with a concentration in learning disabilities and emotional/behavioral challenges, as well as an advanced degree in School Administration. Throughout her career, Marya has chaired numerous IEP meetings, collaborated monthly with Montgomery County Public Schools in the appeals department, and represented special education cases in hearings.

A strong advocate of the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE), Marya is deeply committed to ensuring that all students have access to quality education and can thrive in inclusive classrooms. Her career reflects a lifelong dedication to advocating for students with special needs and partnering with teachers, families, and schools to design programs that foster academic, social, and emotional success.
