Nicole Tessmer

Nicole D. Tessmer is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) with 19 years of experience working within the field of school psychology. Nicole has vast experience with conducting comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations linked to intervention, including assessment and program planning for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety/Depression/Mood Disorders, ADHD & Executive Functioning challenges, PTSD, and Intellectual Disabilities with Specific Learning Disabilities. Nicole has practiced school psychology within special program classes, public schools, early intervention preschool programs, and most recently, international schools.

In addition to conducting psychoeducational evaluations and contributing to Individualized Education Programs (IEP’s), Nicole is highly experienced with facilitating Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans for students experiencing social-emotional-behavioral needs that impede learning. Nicole is a certified trainer in Crisis Prevention & Intervention (CPI). She regularly provides CPI certification training for school staff on de-escalation strategies, crisis intervention, and safety planning for students in distress. Her expertise extends to risk assessments, threat assessments, child safeguarding advocacy, and coordination between home, school, and private practitioners for students who receive intensive in-school and out-of-school mental health services. Nicole collaborates closely with teams to develop comprehensive and culturally responsive psychoeducational services for the students she serves.
